activity info

Only a couple of hours after the sunrise, when the city begins to wake up, it’s the perfect time for you to discover, far from the crowds, the most significant architectural and artistic complex bequeathed by Greek antiquity to the world. Acropolis and its monuments are considered universal symbols of the classical spirit and western civilization. These white Pentelic marble masterpieces are the crown jewels of Athens. Through this historical tour, learn the secrets of Parthenon, the great temple dedicated to the goddess Athena, designed by Ictinus and Kallikrates, and erected by the ancient Athenians in the 5th century BC.

Still blinded by the beauty of Acropolis, going down to the old town, you will get off the usual tourist trail and go beyond Athens's historic sights. With your expert guide, wander down streets that reveal a rich history with every step. Walk the more hidden routes towards the Parliament building and learn its history. Follow ancient streets through the Plaka area to Anafiotika, a secret “island” inside Athens, pass by the Roman Agora and Hadrian’s Library and reach the Monastiraki Square, a popular meeting point with a long history.

Continue your tour to the Ancient Agora, where the greatest Greeks such as Plato, Socrates, Demosthenes and many world-known philosophers walked and taught their thinking. Explore the temples and imagine ancient life under its famous long, marble colonnaded arcades. You’ll also see the significant artifacts at the Agora Museum, located in the two-storied Stoa of Attalus, during your visit. The exhibits in the Museum of the Agora are bound to fascinate you. Enjoy!
