We would like to inform you that from the 5th of September 2023, the Ministry of Culture decided to implement timeslots as far as it concerns the visit to the Acropolis archaeological site, aiming to control the number of visitors per hour for the protection of the monument.

Therefore, we kindly ask you to inform us with the desired time for your visit to the Acropolis (ie. 8am - 9am/ 9am - 10am etc.).

Acropolis' opening hours: April to 15 September between 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM (last admission at 7:30 PM), 16 to 30 September between 08:00 AM - 7 PM (last admission at 6:30 PM), October between 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM (last admission at 5:30 PM), November to March 8:00AM - 5PM (last admission at 4.30PM).

Child policy: For infants aged 0-5 years old and for EU citizens aged less than 25 years old you must go to Acropolis ticket booth directly to receive a free ticket.

Audio guide:

The instructions on how to download your audio guide can be found on your voucher.There is no network signal at the Acropolis. Therefore, download your free audio tour before you reach the site. After that, you can enjoy your audio tour offlineYou should bring your own headphones.Each audio tour stop is geo-located, so to listen to all the information provided, please wait for the narration to be finished before you move forward to the next stop.

Avoid the crowd for ticket line. Highly recommend if you don’t prefer waiting in line to get in. Accompanying audio was very informative.

skip the line part was the best part, the experience was fun and enriching. i would recommend this option for families with children or elders who cannot stand in the sun for the line for too long

I enjoyed visiting the Acropolis and Parthenon. There was no skipping the line we had to queue. We went early and arrived just after 8am but it was already...

The best time to visit the Acropolis of Athens, is during the early morning or late afternoon to avoid the crowds and the heat, especially during the summer season.

During summer season, the archeological site of Acropolis closes at 08:00 pm, and the last entrance is at 07:30 pm.

During winter season it closes at 05:00 pm.

You will need 2 to 3 hours to explore the archaeological site of Acropolis. 

Yes, Acropolis has a timed entry system, and guests can visit the archaeological site only on their selected timeslot during the operating hours. However, there is no time limit on the duration of your visit.
