Two Day Delphi & Meteora Tour from Athens
Highlights
Activity info
Begin from Athens with your luxury air conditioned carbon-neutral bus and your professional guide and enjoy a majestic two days trip visiting two of Greece's most iconic sites: Delphi, the ancient "navel of the world," and the awe-inspiring Meteora, home to UNESCO-listed cliff-top monasteries.
1st DAY: Step aboard your luxury bus and set off northwest to Delphi, enjoying a scenic drive through the Greek countryside. Arriving around noon, you’ll explore the famous archaeological site, home to the ancient Temple of Apollo. This legendary site was once considered the center of the world in ancient Greece and is renowned for its oracle and rich history. Take in the stunning views and immerse yourself in the stories of the classical Greek era. In the afternoon after lunch, travel through Central Greece, passing the cities of Lamia (with a short stop) and Trikala, and cross the fertile Thessalian Plain to reach Kalambaka by evening. This charming town lies at the foot of Meteora's breathtaking grey rock formations, crowned by its world-famous monasteries. Enjoy a brief stop to shop for local souvenirs before settling in for your overnight stay in Kalambaka.
2nd DAY: Savor breakfast at your hotel before heading to Meteora, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its awe-inspiring cliff-top monasteries. Visit two different impressive Byzantine Monasteries, built on top of rock towers and providing panoramic views of the plains below. Once a haven for monks seeking solitude, these monasteries now offer visitors a rare glimpse into a world of spirituality and natural beauty. Meteora is considered one of the most breathtaking and inspiring destinations in mainland Greece, renowned for its unique monasteries perched high on towering rock formations. On your way back to Athens, make a brief stop at the heroic monument of King Leonidas of Sparta in Thermopylae—a perfect spot for memorable photos. Return to Athens by early evening, with your heart full of inspiration and your camera filled with incredible memories.
